Life With a Toddler

Life with a toddler is...BUSY!!!  I love blogging and talking about my triumphs and disasters in the kitchen, but I have to admit I've enjoyed taking a step back and catching up on some much needed social propaganda...and yes, I'm talking about TV.  At the beginning of the new year we went cold turkey and turned off cable - we don't have a digital TV and did not want to buy a converter box (in efforts to save money), so all our news, entertainment, etc...is now the internet (and library - I heart the library).  I must add...I LOVE NOT HAVING TV!!!!!!!!!!!!  Why didn't we do this sooner?  Though, my husband might disagree with the above statement, he has been a champ and loves how much money we are now saving.  With that said, I've found that I desire an hour of brain numbing entertainment, after Max goes to bed, to help me relax and be selfish - if that is at all possible as a stay at home mom - and I've turned to the internet for such entertainment....ever since Max has been born I haven't had the opportunity to watch an entire episode of any television show, unless Max is well asleep and sometimes that is even a no go.  Now that I've found freedom in the internet I've really enjoyed the luxury of being able to stop and start a show/movie and know I can go back to it later...this may sound silly to many of you that already get your entertainment online or with a DVR, but this "new" technology has given me a new found freedom!!!  And just to give a shout out, to all you all that haven't seen the BBC's Sherlock, I would highly recommend it!  It's my new indulgence...along with The Bachelor...don't judge...OK judge, I would if I was you! : )

So, enough TV talk and down to some cooking!

I'm excited to say that I will soon be the owner of a, new to me, nutribullet!  I already have a bunch of recipes that I'm excited to try and share...including, but not limited to:  almond milk, cashew milk, nut butters, smoothies, and creating and cooking with homemade flours! This product has inspired me to continue my journey to create good and healthy foods that even my toddler will enjoy.  I hope you will continue with me in my quest to share a love for food and health!  Happy Belated New Year!!!
