Epic Failure
So, what do you do when you have a sick baby asleep in the car, a late Dr's apt (which conveniently puts you in the middle of rush hour traffic on the way home), no food at home (because today was shopping day, but couldn't go because you were home taking care of a sick baby), and a hungry husband waiting for you???...Fast Food???...No way, remember I don't eat that crap! So, what to do?...what would you do?...Burgerville to the rescue! It's not fast food...right?...they buy local, have seasonal products, and offer some organic options, I mean how many fast food restaurants offer those kind of options that also have a drive thru?...NONE! It would be a disservice to our community if we didn't support them by ordering dinner there tonight! So, we're going to enjoy a "healthy convenient" meal that just happens to have the option to be accessed by drive-thru :-) What could be healthier than a deep fried-locally grown-chicken sandwich, with Tillamook cheese (also local), bacon and sweet potatoe fries (seasonal)! Dinner of champions to be arriving soon from a paper bag!
Please check out Burgerville's sustainability page-they really are a pretty amazing "quick-service" restaurant! http://www.burgerville.com/sustainable-business/the-business-case/
I'm with you Burgerville, to the rescue!
ReplyDeleteI really am up for other suggestions! I just couldn't think of anything else to do tonight! Plus, I love bacon and they have amazing thick pepper bacon on their sandwiches :)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous. I miss Burgerville SOOO much! But my "quick go-to" meal is tuna casserole. I make sure I always have the ingredients on hand and my recipe takes about 10 min to prepare and 20 min in the oven and it is DELISH. All you need are some sort of noodles [I usually use whole grain penne], butter, flour, milk, cheese, and tuna. I'd be happy to share my recipe if you'd like!! :]
ReplyDeleteKaty - I LOVE tuna noodle casserole, but unfortunately Ben hates it :( That is such a good idea to have casserole ingredients on hand...I think I'll try and find a recipe that Ben would like, with convenient pantry items for an emergency dinner :-)
